Draconequus OC Cupid lineart
An old sketch. This is my Draconequus OC, who is nicknamed Cupid. (Don’t have an actual name for her yet.) Still trying to figure out her story, but as of right now her story is: She was born near the farthest border of the Crystal Empire. Her egg was abandoned by her real parents and she remained in her egg for a long time as she was too weak to hatch. One day, a magical blast from the Crystal Heart reached Cupid’s egg and she absorbed the magic, giving her the strength to finally hatch. Drawn to the energy of the Crystal Heart, the newborn Cupid made her way to the center of the Crystal Empire where the Crystal Heart was located. Somehow she made it in one piece, but tired and hungry from her journey, she snuggled as close as she could to the warmth Crystal Heart’s energy and remained there until she was found by Princess Cadence and Shining Armor. Seeing the state she was in, the couple decided to take Cupid in and raise her as a sister and playmate to Flurry Heart. They had their worries at first, but Cupid showed no sense of malice, much to the couple’s relief. In fact, she quite enjoyed the company of her new sister, Flurry Heart, and the two became fast friends. Of course, Discord found out about Cupid and was elated to know that there was another Draconequus. However, as time went on, Discord quickly learned that he could not stand to be around the little tyke. She was bubbly, full of energy, a complete girly-girl, was interested in make-up, fashion, and putting on magical shows for audiences, especially for Flurry Heart. She was not at all interested in causing chaos the way that Discord did. When she was younger, she would get very upset every time there was a fight between friends or a couple, especially if that relationship fell apart, she would be devastated for days on end, not able to understand why the relationship didn’t last. But later on she realized that because there is a fight or even if a relationship ended, doesn’t mean it’s the end of the world. As she got older, Cupid wanted to help ponies and other creatures with their relationships, from friendships to love, and so became relationship counselor. She likes to transform into the same form as the individuals she is helping so that she could be more relatable to them in the hopes that her clients would open up to her. Also, just because she is a girly-girl does not mean she doesn’t how to defend herself. She does know how to wield several weapons, but has a preference for a bow and arrow. She is also gifted in the magical arts, but she knows very well that you can’t just depend on magic to help you get by.
