What I’m trying to say is that nothing is really stopping you from making changes that deviates from canon in your works. I mean there are stories that that asks what if Rainbow never did her first Sonic Rainboom? What if Pinkie became a sadistic murderer? What if the entire cast were male versions of themselves? So on and so forth.
In your case, may I hazard a guess that you want to create a storyline where Twilight never got her wings? Where Season 2 or 3 never happened? That’s fine by me, I think it could be a fun read. Now to do it in a way that’s interesting and appealing to others, now that’s the hard part.
I wish you luck on your creation your own Equestia. You’ll have a lot of competition out there.
I don’t quite get what you’re trying to say in the second part of your comment. What do you mean “edit it out of the narrative”?
Don’t like a particular premise of the canon? Edit it out of the narrative yourself and slap an alternate universe tag on it. Just as long as you don’t tout it as canon (I’m personally fond of the canon myself), I really don’t see a problem here.
You have fun trying to mount that high horse with both eyes swollen shut and your pants tied around your ankles, while I get on with my life now that my torment is ended.
“In the end, only results matter.”
That’s personal opinion. For some people, only the results matter. But for others, it’s also about knowing that whatever happened they didn’t sink to the level of the bullies and their use of violence.
I don’t even have a headcanon… but they seem to “forget” things they did or said before, only to please their precious bronies.
Speaking from personal experience, bullies only understand one language: power. Either you demonstrate that you yourself have the power to stop them, or they will continue to torment you because they know they can.
You lead an incredibly sheltered life if you honestly think that playing nice or hiding behind grownups who can’t be arsed to do anything is the least bit effective.
Violence is not the “correct” answer, it’s the effective one. And no matter how you slice it, in the end only results matter.
and you think violence is the correct answer. You sure that won’t just land YOU in greater trouble. Sorry but no, violence is not the way to deal with this
Maybe the adult fans who were pissed are tired of being told that the only effective response is not politically correct.
I’ve been on the wrong end of bullying, and I tried all the moral guardians’ favored tactics - making friends, telling an adult, “just ignore”-ing it. Wasted effort, every single one.
In the end, only a beatdown would ever back someone off.
What I was trying to mean is if this tendency continues, we should try making our own show with ponies.
@Lurks-no-More
Cool, you listened to my opinions, I listened to yours.
Oh, sure! I think there’s only one outright bad episode in the whole season, and that’s “Spike at Your Service”; I was just picking some of the most notable high points. :)
“One Bad Apple” was about not continuing a cycle of bullying and violence, and made the point that you should tell adults about stuff like that. Yeah, sometimes it doesn’t work for various reasons, but it’s the first thing you should do. (Ironically, a bunch of adult fans were pissed about the episode because it did not validate lashing out at bullies or clinging to their old grudges.)
“Too Many Pinkie Pies” - Ancient, chaotic magic from Everfree Forest is misused by Pinkie, leading to a total mess. And it points out how Pinkie - the real Pinkie - has more depth and substance than the “crazy party pony” surface suggests.
“Crystal Empire” - I liked the songs, found the Mane Six quite in character and like Cadence and Shining Armor. Besides, they “save the day” only because they save Spike, who together with Twilight has done the real saving. As for the Princesses, it’s strongly implied that they could have handled the whole thing themselves; Celestia wants Twilight to do it as a part of her alicorn quest, while Luna has her doubts. (The “goddess” thing is all fanon, BTW. Fanon that I tend to follow myself, but still fanon.)
And for “Sleepless in Ponyville”, yes, it was a CMC episode; more specifically, it was a Scootaloo episode, something she’s been waiting until now. But it was also a Luna episode, and a Rainbow Dash episode. And if you think there wasn’t anything new about that whole episode, I say you didn’t pay much attention to what happened there.
What a great idea, let’s make an alternative pony universe, I’m sure noone’s doing that already… oh wait
I gave 2 additional points for derpy
You get points for trying.
Wait, what?
I still stand by my opinion, even with my name visible. It’s just that I get enough hate for my art already, I didn’t wanna be hated even more xD But meh, IDC.
Oh, we’re havin’ some nice roast duck tonight.
Congratulations.
You failed.
