Ivory, despite being a snobbish mare of high society, adored her little half sister. Since their parents weren’t around much, Ivory took on a bit of a surrogate mother role for Violet and Nightingale. Initially, she dreaded the day Violet would eventually have to be married off to some other rich bat pony family; but as Violet turned 16, Ivory realized the day had come to look for suitors. So she looked at every single eligible bachelor of all the other vampire families. Violet…humored her sister. It was fun doing preemptive wedding plans after all, and it wasn’t like Violet was actually going to marry someone.
Much to Ivory’s shock when Violet passively mentions the boyfriend she’s been dating for six months. Utterly thrilled, Ivory wants to know all of the details: why Violet kept it a secret, what sort of character he was and what shade of red or black their wedding would be. Violet, afraid of disappointing her sister, kept a tight lip until the Bloodwine Banquet; a vampire pony party celebrating the kindship between each other. Other families would come, so of course Ivory was sure she would finally meet Vi’s future husband.
And Violet, caught up in her love for Windshorn, seemed to forget the delicate social balance she was about to disrupt by bringing him. And Windy didn’t realize how fancy this party was gonna be until he shows up in a dirty, torn up shirt that Violet loved so much.
Needless to say, it was a disaster. Ivory was horrified and extremely offended by Violet’s choice. How dare she bring that classless ruffian to one of the most important parties of the year? And what nerve this highland unicorn had for daring to court Violet Sunshine of Dragonstone. He was hardly half of the amazing pony she was! What did she see in him? Anywho, Ivory forbade Violet from seeing that assault-on-the-senses ever again…so Violet just…left. If her big sister didn’t want to understand why Violet would choose Windy, then that would be the end of it. Much to Ivory’s dismay, Violet packed up and left the Dragonstone Castle for good to live a life of freedom and joy with her fiance.
Luckily, Ivory was able to cram down her fury long enough to grin and bear when their families had to be together. Every time, however, Ivory would pull Windy aside to threaten him. If he ever broke Violet’s heart or took advantage of her love, Ivory would see to his total exsanguination and have his blood thrown into the filthiest mud pits of Equestria because that is all his blood is worth.
