Description
Bow in awe to the ruler of the Hippogriffs herself, Queen Novo! This majestic monarch reigned over her half-eagle, half-pony subjects for many moons. Even when Mount Aris and Hippogriffia were invaded by the evil Storm King and his army, forcing the hippogriffs to hide under the sea as Seaponies (Hippocampi), Novo did everything to keep her subjects safe and content. Despite of her being distrustful of outsiders and often times vain, she cares for her kingdom and her bubbly daughter, Princess Skystar. After the Storm King’s death, Novo and the hippogriffs returned to the surface, now free of the defeated warlord’s tyranny and open to making friends with ponykind.
Here’s the vector of Queen Novo you’ve all been waiting for. While working on my Griffon and Hippogriff Day projects two months ago, I knew that sooner or later we were in need of one. I admit I wanted to make a vector of the Hippogriff queen since the movie, but I couldn’t find any good references, and those I did find were so small the resolution would be disoriented if enlargened. Fortunately, Gameloft had a really good reference, size especially.
Obviously I made this in TV show style since Novo and Skystar didn’t appear in the show (except as seaponies, just not as hippogriffs). We will never know if this is even close to accurate to that style. But you have to admit she still looks beautiful.
I decided to submit this today because it is the 4th anniversary of My Little Pony the Movie. Quite a sweet arrangement, huh? Apart from this, I didn’t have anything planned for the occasion, so I’m going to simply say that the movie was really incredible, and both The Spongebob Squarepants Movie and Ed, Edd n Eddy’s Big Picture Show were great for their series. And although we most likely won’t get another 4th generation My Little Pony movie, it was wonderful to finally have one. May Friendship is Magic live on in our hearts.
