I seriously misjudged you. So much art these days is made with the intent to show the artist’s view of an ideal world or, worse, push an agenda, but you truly only wished to create an artistic rendering of something you considered beautiful, which truth be told is what I wish more artists would do. You’re a real gem, and I’m sorry.
Yeah thats true but most people for some reason don’t actually think that if you draw them all as white cis and straight they are drawing their own headcanon of the characters, idk why tho.
As for why they’re ‘disproportionally’ queer, for me personally its just cause that’s how I imagined them while watching! I have interacted with a lot of queer people in my life and a lot of my close friends and people I admire are queer, so I think its only logical that an interpretation, of a person with that perspective, of characters from a show they love would be more queer. :33 But yeah like Krickis lgbtq+ people often gravitate to each other so I don’t really see it as disproportionate or anything x33
Usually because it’s queer people creating queer content for other queer people (and cishet people who like queer content). We’re not trying to be realistic, we’re trying to see ourselves in the characters.
But if we must argue realism, queer people do tend to stick together a lot, it’s not uncommon to have a whole group of friends who are all queer.
No and that’s besides the point. Because in this instance the double standard comes from when the inverse causes offense.
Do you have a problem with the disproportionate amount of Japanese people in anime?
Depending on what country it takes place in, it’s not always “disproportionate.”
I’m gonna take a wild leap here and assume that you’re fine with the disproportionate amount of straight white people on TV.
Also, why are these “headcanons” always disproportionately queer?
Thank you! I think they’re my favourites too x3
Yeah, I just drew them that way because I felt it fit! I would be holding myself back way more creativley if I just tried to make them all fit that white and skinny mold for no reason other than that’s just how everyone else draws them. I wanted to experiment and have fun with how they looked and expressed themselves. I don’t think that characters being trans/non-white is political personally. And like I said, I acknowledge its just my interpretation and that I get that others may see it differently but this is just what I like and see them as. ^^ And I understand, we all get in bad moods sometimes so don’t worry! I think you shouldn’t assume that just because characters get drawn in more ‘diverse’ ways it means that the artist is trying to make it some kinda political thing. In my experience its mostly just people liking how things look/ wanting to reflect themselves more in their favourite characters which in my opinion is harmless and even if you personally dont enjoy how the art looks its not harming you. I’m sure there are plenty of humanized mane sixes out there that you may enjoy! This is just one like that for me! :3
There’s nothing to explain, really. I’m not a fan of transparent efforts at inclusion and representation. It seems contrived and annoying to me, like the artist is being held back (or choosing to hold himself/herself back) creatively for the sake of political expression. I of course acknowledge that that may not have been the case here. This may have been exactly what you wanted to express. Also you’re right, what I did wasn’t criticism. I think I was just in a mood when I saw this art and overreacted. Again I’m sorry.
Its ok! And if you want to explain u can pm me! We might not see eye to eye because to me your response seemed way out of wack but its still always interesting to me to hear those kinda opinions. Its not really criticism tho just so u know.
Also its ok though! I understand a lot of people on the internet play those kinda jokes, and its not like me saying my headcanons for that hurts or anything
I do think that mlp is very eurocentric with its main cast but that doesn’t exclude the possibility of the characters being non white. I mean, there are plenty of non white people who have been around forever in European countries. I do see them all as European though in general if they were to be in our world. I mean personally my dad was born in Africa but he was raised all his life in Britain and he is definitely 100% British really, he never really had any other identity. The only thing that differentiated him was his skin colour, I kinda see them the same way. People of colour have always been part of european culture either by choice or by force but either way they’re there. And I mean as for the VA bit… there have been many non white characters in media that have been voiced by white VA’s so I dont think that really influences my interpretation much.
I mean… Straight edge said it was disgusting and that’s it and all he did was get his comment removed… i doubt u’d get permabanned if u just criticized the art quality or something. But its fair
That was a bit mean of me. The truth is I’m not the kind of guy who cares that much about “diversity” and “representation,” but I don’t wanna get into that.
I guess if you want a serious question, I did have this one. Again, I’m not the kind of guy who particularly cares about racial coding and stuff, but since you are that kind of person, wouldn’t you say that the Mane Six are all meant to be coded white, especially since their voice actresses are all white?

Sorry I was mean. I would explain why I reacted the way I did, but you said you wanted constructive criticism, so ill just respect that.
Ok, but I still don’t wanna risk it. Don’t feel like getting permabanned for just disliking the way you draw them, so there is
Sure, as long as it’s constructive! (And not just… “I don’t like them being X race/gender” cause that’s just weird and confusing to me)
Sorry I’m bad at detecting sarcasm…
Jesus Christ. I can’t believe you actually gave me a serious answer…
Well no, Muslim is a religion not a race and I don’t hc either of them to be religious,
But I guess
