I see what you’re getting at now. Try two columns–the top row becomes the left column, the bottom row becomes the right column. That makes the text follow a normal panel order while still preserving the parallel stories thing.

it is supposed to be two parallel stories with the same “Ah, love at first sight…” narrative going through both of them, could not pull it off it seems
