All it takes is one mistake and one misinterpretation of a situation to get a permanent scar from getting sucker punched. Realistically, people aren’t perfect and do not have perfect judgment or perfect memory, not even Twilight, especially not over such a long time span. Skills, including social skills and “reading the room,” will rust away over time if not used.
 
Also, it could be a Starlight Glimmer situation, where Twilight cannot overpower her enemy with force and tries diplomacy instead… but it doesn’t work out for her so well this time

“Oh yeah and I find it funny how some nextgen artist portrait twilight as a nerdy and lovely mother to her children with her same hairstyle. Im quite sure twilight wouldn’t even have time to make her own family because it would be impossible for someone like her to rule an entire kingdom, bring day and night, casually check the school of friendship, raising a child and loving his wife/husband. If she ever could it would drive her nuts due to the huge amount of stress as seen in other episodes.”
 
I find it funny people seem to think Twilight is incapable of growing as a character and existing only in a vacuum and cannot learn how to handle her stress has shown in the episodes of the show…..were she learns how to control her stress and relax and not go nuts….odd….the show actually showed how she could handle this as well as have an entire staff of people to help her do exactly what she wants.
 
Almost like its been shown its entirely possible for for the rulers of the kingdom to travel around and do things.
 
But hey, i suppose characters locked in the one dimensional space rather then as 3d character who can grow and change over time is more interesting and not boring at all.
 
And Twilight totally hasnt been shown to know when to do diplomacy and when to fight multiple times….in the show…..she just blindly tries to friendship things…..never ever did anything else….ever…….
 
Seriously do people actually watch the show or do they watch a couple of clips and ignore the rest of the show entirely?

The world is cruel. Those who grow up sheltered have to learn this the hard way.
