But I think those kinds of people are expressing their like/obsession/fanaticism,… with a given piece of work and are most likely minors or other… special people. Same stuff on Instagram except worse and even more frequent.

I don’t mind meme edit images on meme sites, and stuff, (it’s fine for an image archive site like Derpibooru) but sites like DeviantArt that were originally only intended for displaying art should only have art.

I remember in the early days of DA, it was against site policy to post copy-and-paste images of copyright material you didn’t make yourself. That included movie images, game images, anything,  
It used to be so enforced, I remember an artist I liked got images deleted, because they put video game screenshot backgrounds behind their video game fanart character drawings.
 
Nowadays, I see people with entire galleries full of nothing they drew themselves, nothing but random Google search images with opinions, or meme text added to them. Does the word “art” mean anything to people?

Lmao see? I’ve seen one a while back where a guy took a screenshot of Shaggy and asked “what if Shaggy can defeat Sephiroth, Goku, Dante, and Superman while using 1% of his power?” With a cut and copy picture of each of those characters. This was an old one, but I thought to myself when I saw it….“what?”

Ugh, tell me about it. I’ve seen plenty of those weird cut & paste pictures that have the most obscure characters used for them. They use the “what if” stuff or “this (character) can beat (this character) with just their fist. Change my mind.” everywhere.

Unfortunately yeah, DeviantArt is cluttered with uncreative not funny,not clever stuff like “what if these two characters met” and there’s a picture of Dora the Explorer next to some obscure rpg character.

I’ve seen this on DeviantArt. is this like,a fetish or something? I wouldn’t be surprised,but I don’t see actual shrunken heads,just captions asking what ifs.

Then nothing, owning a dead person’s head absent of bones, a brain, eyes, and tongue with sewn holes, a wooden ball in the center, and boiled flesh, and sometimes coated with ash is literally just morbid artwork or a symbolic gesture, a trophy if you will. Although I suppose the implication would be that she killed this person and has intentions of using it for magical purposes. Well she could already perform magic without heads, and even by a religious standpoint its significance is only to prevent the soul from avenging itself, or for the owner to supposedly avoid a violent death, at the very least it would serve as a warning to others not to mess with you (which is kind’ve hard to argue with, I mean would you wanna fight someone who would do that to another person).

Then she’d be one of Bowser’s henchmen from the Super Mario Bros movie.
