It’s more than likely a 1Up arcade, which contains the first two MK games as well as Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3.

Same here. Arcade games get real expensive, real fast. In hindsight, arcade games should have had a free tutorial mode but I imagine arcade operators would’ve disabled that real fast.
