There’s another season coming up after this, people.
 
Status quo is god for a TV show that hasn’t reached the end of its run yet. She’ll probably learn a lesson, everything will return to normal, and so on and so forth. If anything game-changing like sudden genuine princesshood does occur, it’ll probably be in the definitive final season/episodes.

how? do you know how an create alternate timeline works? Twilight would wake up remembering the other timeline while knowing nothing of the new one, everyone else would like this was always the normal timeline.

Sorta what I was thinking, though my guess is that Twilight only becomes an alicorn through messing with everypony’s destinies. She will become a Princess but it will be a title rather than a full transformation.

My betting is that it will be a kind of “It’s a Wonderful Life” kind of deal. Twilight messes up everyone’s destinies, and while her own life, under those different fates, is incredible (her being a princess and all), the lives of all her friends are terrible by comparison. By the end she realises that it’s better if both she and her friends are happy.
