It’s exam time at the School of Friendship, and Ocellus has come up with an idea for a stellar project that’s sure to impress all her teachers-a history of Equestria shown through her own unique Changeling abilities! But as deadlines loom and Ocellus finds herself taking on a bit more than she can handle, it’s up to Twilight Sparkle to help her young student realize that sometimes, perfection is overrated.

They better.
Could be - but it does make one wonder, was it the entire creative team that bailed on the comic midway through? Since a different writer is credited as well
>>2187060 might be the explanation for that.
Probably a misprint or something - hopefully fixed before the actual print run starts.
Many recurring characters are absent from that picture and I’m sure they’ll appear.
I didn’t see Starlight in that promotional Season 10 image.
Incorrect - remember Pharynx and that giant bug monster he transforms into in To Change a Changeling? Plus he also does it as a grub in Thorax’s flashback.
Edited because: Clearer flow
So
do you love Ocellus or not
My take is that Ocellus will be trying to impressionate these figures and get upset when she can’t get them perfect.
She probably will return in issue 89 (when the main series rebrands into season 10).
I dunno. She’s been MIA since issue 65 (not counting a cameo in issue 71) and I don’t want her to be ignored since she is still a vital part of the cast and the School of Friendship.
Wait, really? That sounds cool.
This looks like one the few that will.
Or it’s set before that.
Is she absent due to pressure, or the comic writers just not having ideas worth including her for unlike the show.
One of her draws was her actors chemistry with Trixie’s, which doesn’t apply in the comic.
I love Ocellus, but I don’t love ruining changelings, which they did through Ocellus. She was the first changeling shown who could just turn into literally anything regardless of its difference in size or shape from herself. Chrysalis is later given more or less the same powers, whereas before she had only turned into a pony (Chrysalis-shaped) that was slightly smaller than herself (possible size limit).
Gosh, this ability sure would have been useful when an army of changelings attacked Canterlot way back when, huh?
Anyway, the comic’s story is founded solely on said turn into anything powers, so yeah, another time maybe.
No, this was announced well before the IDW “season 10” thing.
