I would argue that it kinda is. These sorts of things sometimes depends on the breed of dog or cat (along with other factors like how they were raised).

Cats being aloof introverted loners? It really depends on the cat. Some are. But some aren’t. For example, quite a bit of feral cats live in colonies together and some of the females even help each other take care of each other’s young (kind of like a lion pride). Different colonies even seem to have different social structures (e.g. some have one leader while others have multiples). Some males in the colony will sometimes even help protect and raise the kittens too. They nuzzle each other and groom each other as well.

The same applies to some domestic house cats. Some cats are just really sociable towards other pets in the household and their people. Some are even sociable to strangers (cat expert Jackson Galaxy likes calling these types of cats Mojito Cats).

Cats being always calm and lazy while dogs are hyperactive and constantly get the zoomies? Again, not always the case. Cats can get the zoomies too. And some breeds of cats are more prone to being super active than others. Some of these breeds are hybrids that were bred with some small wild cats like the Bengal or the Savannah. But there are quite a bit of other cat breeds that aren’t hybrids with wild cats that still have a tendency of being more high energy and playful compared to other cats like Abyssinians, Ocicats, American Bobtails, Bombays, and the Javanese.

In fact, some people have made the mistake of looking at those breeds of cats and just assume they’d be laid back but end up getting surprised (and sometimes completely overwhelmed) when their cat has a high prey drive, requires a lot of exercise, and/or causes a lot of problems because of their high energy. Kind of like how some people buy or adopt certain really active dog breeds (like Huskys) without doing the proper research beforehand and then finding they have their hands full when they’re pet is too hyperactive for their lifestyle/schedule.

The vice versa happens with some dogs too. Some dogs are fairly lazy af and don’t want to do much at all. Some dog breeds that are pretty low energy and would rather just lounge around and be couch potatoes include English Bulldogs, Great Danes, French Bulldogs, Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Pugs, Shih Tzus, and Lhasa Apsos.

There’s quite a bit of “cat-like” dog breeds like Lhasa Apsos, Shiba Inus, Vizslas, and Whippets. And there are quite a bit of “dog-like” cat breeds like Abysinnians, Turkish Angoras, Maine Coones, Manxes, Ragamuffins, Sphynxs, and Ragdolls. In fact, some of those cat breeds have been given the nickname puppy-cats because of their “dog-like” behaviors.

In fact of my old dogs was “cat-like” in terms of personality: he was introverted (he didn’t like interacting with other dogs, he didn’t like interacting with other animals, and the only people he really liked interacting with were me and my parents and even then he’d sometimes act kinda aloof with us sometimes), he was fairly calm, he wasn’t clingy, and he didn’t really want to play often (he did when he was a puppy but when he became an adult he just grew out of it).

I’m not gonna lie, Celestia kind of reminds me of my dog. I love him but he’s full of a lot of energy and wants to play all the time.
