I didn’t have friends in school at all. Know what? I regret nothing.
Books>Petty, ephemeral relationships that end up going nowhere in the end.
I have a low opinion of how Americans view “friendship.” I maybe had 2 people in HS that I considered friends. Everyone else was just a person I didn’t dislike. I didn’t really bother myself with their petty problems that could be solved in 10 seconds considering I had my own dilemmas.
Oh, HS is fun, don’t get me wrong. I just hate how my friends drop friends constantly and I work my ass off trying to get them back.
Seriously, my friends are considering dumping a friend they’ve had for years and thought she’d turn around if they ignored her. I told them “Here’s an idea; talk to her.”
They looked at me as if the idea never crossed their minds.
Honestly, I was the never the target of any of that. My HS years were a lot better than my MS times. I’ve actually been more receptive of positive praise like how I was this hidden badass, that I had loads of sex, etc.
My school wasn’t that smart…
Considering the fact I’m in high school, the age in which backstabbing is abundant and simply looking at tile molding could turn me on, it’s the norm.
Except, you know, when person A finds out what person B has said about them without getting all the facts and all hell breaks loose, after which we swear off gossiping until a few days later.

For the most part here, gossip is pretty equal concerning both genders. Though, it’s less gossip and more general douchebaggery.
Honestly, I’m surprised a masculine-dominant, Christian-heavy, and fairly simple town lets a guy like me off the hook for most of the views I espouse.
Here, it pretty much boils down to “My God, she didn’t turn to her friend and whisper about me, nor did she make some biased statement about my clothing! This girl’s alright.”
For G.I.R.L. yes.
My standards for either gender are in flux. I lived (and still do) in rural Ohio for the majority of my life, so guys are pretty typical in that they’re usually “hick-ish” but still okay. I’m pretty abnormal in that I’m kind of a wuss, so my views on gender are atypical anyway.

In the areas I’ve been, it certainly seems that way. Then again, your standards get severely lowered when you’ve been in LI for a long time.

Women are generally nice people? Where I’m from, it’s half and half. To be fair, my girl friends are usually less… assholish.

Also, is it really that bad that you’re mistaken for a guy? I mean, what’s the difference, really, It’s not like you can get your mack on through a monitor screen.
