As someone who actually makes things, I do find exception to that statement. Thing is, we don’t make cheap stuff anymore, instead investing time in stuff you can’t and probably don’t want to buy…stuff that makes stuff. Machine tools, construction equipment, industrial equipment, medical and aerospace.

I agree with you entirely. I can’t say I truly deeply hate america because I know all americans aren’t like that, and despite it’s many flaws (like any other country, mine for example) it has done some goods things (besides Most of the media I enjoy is american so…)

Being born and raised here doesn’t mean that I like everything about my country or agree with all that it does. In fact, there are many things that disgust me about where I live.
 
Doesn’t mean I hate it or anything; just that I hate retarded flag waving low brow patriotism that boils down to being a complete retard. Oh well.
 
I’m pretty fortunate to be born here as a general rule but there’s still alot of excess and stupidity about this place that deserves being laughed at and referenced with humor.
