Pristine Melody loved the spotlight her sky blue dress attracted as she trotted down the red carpet, her shoulders slanting as she posed for the cameras. However, her least favorite part of the night soon approached…the press! A press pony swiftly approached her with a microphone levitated with their horn.
 
“Mistress Melodious! Stellar performance, as always!” He praised. “Especially your new song, ‘Pearlescent.’ What a show stopper! Tell us, what inspired you to write it?”
 
Mel sighed softly, remembering her conversation with her sister from before. Nodding softly and donning a fake smile, she spoke in her eloquent show voice, “Thank you endlessly darling! As for the inspiration, why, it was all those ponies who deal with deep-seated insecurity and doubt of themselves but cover it up with feigned optimism.”
 
“A very meaningful song for sure!” The press pony replied. “All of your songs are personal to you and this one is undoubtedly no different. Do you have insecurities you’d like to share?”
 
Mel’s heart began to beat faster and her smile began to falter, her eyes darting around the room. “W-well no! Thats extremely personal you know. Peoples anxieties aren’t a thing to be shared..”
 
“Understandable. Would you say you suffer from anxiety?”
 
Her heart sunk in her chest as these words were uttered. She couldn’t lie about who she was. She was perfectly confident in herself. “No but…my little sister Acapella Apple does; we call her Pelly. Shes sweeter than a peach on a hot Appleoosan day! She’s the REAL writer of Pearlescent.”
 
“Acapella Apple, huh?” The press and paparazzi leaned in closer, almost making her claustrophobic with the cameras and flashing lights. “Tell us more! We must know who she is!”
 
Mel could already tell this was a bad idea, but once she opened her mouth the words seemed to flood out of her. “She writes a lot of my songs, it’s her special talent! This is what she was meant to do! She’s a genius!”
 
“And will she be making a public appearance anytime soon?”
 
The press were at a loss for words. What a shocking revelation and a daring question! The crowd went almost silent for a moment before the pop star broke it.
 
“Yes! She will!”
