Parents: Rarity and Fluttershy
 
Fauna is the product of an experimental spell Twilight tried on Fluttershy, to deter Discord from trying his chaotic magic. The result was a healthy, perfectly normal unicorn for Fluttershy and Rarity to adore. And boy do they! Their little filly was the very center of their attention, always with Fluttershy at her animal sanctuary, or Rarity and her many boutiques. This led Fauna to have an appreciation for animals, though she wasn’t quite as interested in clothes as Rarity would have preferred.
 
As a filly, Fauna loved sewing. Unfortunately, designing clothes was horribly boring, and she feared her hobby could only be put towards outfits. It was during a family tragedy - the death of her Mama Fluttershy’s dear Angel Bunny - that she realized sewing could be put towards something else.
 
Fluttershy was absolutely inconsolable. Angel had lived to a ripe old age and died peacefully in his sleep, but that did little to make the pegasus feel better. Rarity loathed the bratty rabbit, yet she couldn’t bear to see her wife so upset, and neither could Fauna. In a desperate attempt to comfort her mama, Fauna stitched together some spare fabric around the house and made a plush bunny. The fabric was a mismatched patchwork of different colors and textures, and the stitching was an uneven mess with old pillow stuffing poking out…But she presented the plushie to Fluttershy with pride.
 
To say Fluttershy was touched would be an understatement. With tears still in her eyes, she scooped her baby into her arms with a grateful hug. The plush didn’t quite take the pain away, but the gesture was incredibly touching. Her daughter made it with her own hooves and magic, and she loved it. While embraced, Fauna’s cutie mark appeared on her flank.
 
Since that day, Fauna has put her talent to good use. She designs and makes plush animals to donate to children’s hospitals and orphanages. She gives her work to children who have gone through tragedies such as disasters and fires, as well as any adult who will find comfort in a plush toy. Anyone in need is welcome to her work, no matter their age or situation. She also takes commissions from the ponies around town - which can go for a good amount of bits depending on the complexity of the request.
 
Being the offspring of both the Elements of Generosity and Kindness, Fauna can have a hard time saying no. Too many times, ponies have taken advantage of her sweet personality and talked her into making a plush for free - despite them being very capable of paying for her service. She’s worked long days and nights, only to work for a discount, be cheated out of money, or simply bullied into giving a spoiled foal a toy for free. She just wants to make everyone happy…
 
Fluttershy and Rarity, being the proud and protective mamas they are, have taken to stepping in and guiding their daughter on the art of saying no. They waste no opportunity to tell her how much her time is worth, certainly worth too much to be treated poorly. As she grows older, she’ll get better at being firm in her prices and policies.
