Background/Personality:
Panther is the oldest and only son of princess Luna. For four years, the princess raised him in secret. Not even Celestia knew of Panther’s existence, and that’s the way Luna wanted things to be. She’s kept his father a secret from him, mainly because of shame.

For this short time, the two were happy in this hidden relationship, but the guilt and the shame kept growing on Luna. As Panther grew older, his magic was proving to be too deadly, and far too powerful. And so, one dark night, Luna took him away, far beyond the borders of Equestria, and left the young foal abandoned in the woods. She told him to wait there, and that she’d be back, but hours passed. Days.

Weeks later, Panther was in the same spot, covered with bug bites, scratches, and looking unhealthily thin. He was approached by a large, striped creature, but he’d already accepted death. The creature turned out to be a zebra, who took pity in the young alicorn and carried him home.

Panther was healed, fed, and welcomed into the tribe. He stayed in the nursery with the youngest zebras, learning their ways and even making a few friends. Where he thought all hope was lost, the zebras showed him happiness again.

He underwent training, participating in duels and proving his worth to the tribe. He went through trials, rough trials, but he ended up proving to everyone that he belonged in the tribe.

Though it seems like a happy ending, Panther always had a burning fuel inside of him, a hatred toward Equestria and its lies, but mostly, a hatred toward his mother.

Side Notes
After a few years of being in the tribe, Panther fought and killed a panther that was invading their lands, most likely looking for food. He’d always wanted to change his name, as it was a reminder of the mother who abandoned him, and “Panther” became his new nickname among the tribe. It was a title of honor he’d been the only member of the tribe to actually kill a panther. The name stuck, and he only goes by it now.

-Panther is plotting revenge against Equestria and its citizens. He once travelled to his old home in secret, but immediately returned, angry and frustrated upon seeing how easy their lives were. It wasn’t fair to him, how he and the tribe have been living a painful, difficult life filled with suffering and agony. They actually had to fight to get their food, while it seemed like Equestria’s citizens were tossing it down the drain as if it was nothing.

-His plot involves taking the throne and calling it his own. After all, he is the rightful heir, not Cadence or Twilight Sparkle, and he plans to fix Equestria by giving his tribe a much better life.

-He never forgot the face of his mother. The image of Luna reminds him of how much he hates her, and how much he wants justice.

-Zena is a zebra in his tribe and his best friend. He’s loved her since he laid eyes on her, and seeing how hard she works is one of the main reasons why Panther wants to gain control of Equestria and make things better for the tribe.

Luna gave him up because she was afraid he’d end up like Sombra, too powerful and extremely dangerous. Of course, she was also ashamed of his birth this whole thing happened when Sombra returned to regain control of the Crystal Empire. Even though Luna’s rather smart, she unfortunately lead him straight down the Sombra path by giving him up.

-Luna did hope that Panther would die when she abandoned him. It would’ve solved all of her problems.

-The scars on Panther’s body are from trials and battles. The bite on his neck is probably from a zebra foal who got too carried away with playing.

-Had he grown up in Equestria, Panther would have been very protected, probably even isolated, being the only known male alicorn.

-Many zebras did not want him to join the tribe. They’d seen the faces of ponies before, and definitely weren’t trusting of them. However, Panther proved to be a hardworking young alicorn who fought for recognition and honor.

%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%%~
That was a lot of rambling, sorry xD
I really like my boy, I think it’s his design or the fact that he’s probably the villain, I don’t know
I’ll link a non-shaded version of him below, since he looks a lil dark here
Unshaded Panther

Thank you so much for stopping by to take a look! Any suggestions/feedback on his backstory or design are very appreciated!
