If you’ve been friends since childhood and you’re an adult, your best friend abandoning you is going to make you extremely bitter.
If you’ve been friends since childhood and are also currently still a child, your best friend abandoning you puts you at severe risk of chronic sympathetic villainy, also known as Starlight Glimmer Syndrome (and just for the pun of it even though it’s less fitting, also also known as Sunset Shimdrome).

Gonna have to disagree. Tempest convinced herself she didn’t want it after it was denied to her again and again. She was so incredibly thirsty for friendship that the one moment she was shown a true offering of it made her abandon her plans and betray her employer. Her whole life goal was to restore a sense of normalcy to herself.

Moondancer didnt go villain because she has no grudge against the system. She was educated and grew up within it. For all we know her life was great, outside of being a loner bookworm.
Her case is the usual hikikomori case, or shut-ins. Frankly Sunburst was on the brink of going there too. If you read hikikomori stories, they usually are bright people who lost motivations after someone had done them wrong.
Both Starlight and Tempest had childhood experiences that made them think “shit, i guess that’s just how the world works” and they both created an ideology to protect themselves from that thing.
It’s not really correct.

Moondancer is pretty much the same, she had a bad experience and then based her entire life around defending herself from it. Her experience was different and she is different though, that’s why she didn’t come to the same conclusion as tempest, that’s why starlight didn’t come to the same conclusion as tempest.
Even if they all had childhood friends run off, it all happened for a different reason, in a different way.
None of them were out for revenge at all really. Tempest just didn’t care about others and Starlight straight up believed she was making the world a better place.
Yeah we got eyerbrows unicorn who is sane but was exaggerated, one with broken horn who also can be explained not only as abbadoned by friends, but because ptsd, the fact that Equestria is weak without borders protection, without inteligent ponys and especially because she doesn’t have any(probably) choice but joined the Storm king army and we should get hope to see her in prison as punishment then maybe we gonna feel better and one who is also the worst because she did it for any reason probably the worst thing and should be punished

And yeah, that’s a good point. Tempest and Starlight didn’t appear to be as lucky as Moondancer, especially the former. They pretty much left home after these incidents. Where were their families?
True but in her case it was self destructive instead of hurting others. Still bad by all means, but it’s a different problem.

Ah, never mind. The purpose of the spoiler function is simply unknowable to everypony except myself. <3<
The mods want all leaked infos to stay in the season 8 threads.
The [spoiler] function has no purpose. Understood. X3
No talking about leaks.
Which, if one considers S08E13… >w<
I could find someone to recast Twist. Do you think Tara Strong could be Twist? Twist sounds a lot like Timmy Turner with a lisp.

Yeah, even though she didn’t become a villain like the others, she definitely followed a self destructive path like they did.
@redweasel
I’d be down with that.

Unless they have glasses. That seems to be the rule.
even better! she plays a silent role!
Not gonna happen, her VA moved overseas in 2011 and if they haven’t recast her by now they’re obviously not allowed to do so…
… actually, that’s what I’ve done.
