Yep, this is all up to taste, if you dislike the “first look attraction” thing, which is a prevalent trope in this kind of teen movie, you won’t like it for sure. Is cool though, to each his own.
I just feel like they weren’t done right.
The first sight thing basically killed the momentum of anything the did after that, too.
I really wanted to give it a chance, but that first misstep immediately ruined it for me.
There’s also the fact that a camp counselor hitting on one of their campers feels a bit skeevy, especially since it’s unclear how close they are in age in relation to each other…
I feel like this is something that we’re just going to disagree on.
Begins with a look, some blushing, then touching hands (how lewd!), that’s pretty standard so far, of the level of Flash’s interactions with regular Twilight. But then the movie actually has them hitting it off with nerd jokes, he makes her laugh, they get each other. Then throughout the movie you see little hints of them getting along, like Sci-Twi hitting him in the arm, joking together, them sharing looks, the super cute moment where their lantern touch
There’s a lot of setting up towards the prom dancing thing at the end where they act surper cute together again. Personally thought this little romance subplot was done well, as far as these types of movies go. And really, with all the blushing interactions and the kiss at the end of the movie, don’t see how you can say “you feel they were not falling for each other”.
As for the subplot, actually it added a layer to the movie: at first the suspicion is on Timber being the bad guy, which puts Sci-Twi in a bad spot considering all the flirting they had, and when it’s revealed he’s a good guy, she’s relieved.
Of course, it’s all up to what you like in a movie, and I do like these cute moments, when they are done right.
Felt less natural to me, to be honest.
@ArmadilloEater
Sure, some of the interaction was cute, but I didn’t feel like they were falling for each other. At least not in a way that made sense.
The immediateness of it & the fact that the movie had this thing about the whole Midnight Sparkle being traumatizing made it feel like the romantic subplot shouldn’t have been there.
Legend of Everfree is the only EqG movie where I actually felt the romantic subplot subtracted from the rest of the movie instead of just being on the side of it…
Agreed, Timber and Scitwi had actual cute interactions together, it was pretty good. Also the movie even took the time to give Flash some more depth, it dealt with the whole canon shipping a lot better than previous movies.
Really? I thought Sci-Twi’s chemistry with Timber was handled a lot better than Twilight’s chemistry with Flash, it felt a lot more natural.

I think I got the perfect parody comic for that
First the Doggo Waifubot, then the Hooman Husbandobot
But it turns out it was a robo-waifu for Spike!
That’s true, I feel.
& I don’t even like the flashlight ship all that much.
Mainly Sunlight shippers :P
I think she needs to check her numbers again.
