Yes, new followers. Scoots guardian is Pinkie. And yes, this is the future (2015 to exact).
In case you didn’t know, Scoots legal guardian in PC is in fact the party-loving Pinkie Pie, rather than former idol Rainbow Dash. Its the result of a custody battle gone sour. Under the law, Pinkie is her guardian, not a mother or a sister. But they just call each other sisters to save a syllable.
They are near polar opposites, with Pinkie being all about smiles and Scoots being the sad and depressed one. Pinkie often tries some of her tactics to bring a true smile to the poor filly. She knows that she can never replace her real parents, but still tries her best to be a great sister. They have a strong bond and always watch out for each other, whether they like it or not.
Parallel to their relationship is the one between Scootaloo and the two Cake twins, Pumpkin and Pound. Though they are not related in any way, the twins still see Scoots as an older sister and treat her such. The two toddlers are one of the very few things that warms Scoots heart and she often switches into a defensive protection mode when theyre around.
The Cakes are on a long business trip in Canterlot leading the primary kitchen for a massive open ball set to start in February. In the time they were gone, the twins started adopting the personalities of their babysitters/guardians. Pumpkin is a talkative bundle of energy who resembles Pinkie. Shes always hopping around and is kind of a klutz. Pound is more mute and more of a shyer foal, just like Scootaloo. He keeps to himself, but is a really smart kid. Pumpkin is often seen as a translator for his silent signals.
With the Cakes gone, Sugarcube Corner is run entirely by Pinkie with the help of the foals. Scoots is a skilled baker (though she doesn’t openly admit it) and often mans the kitchen along with Pinkie. Pumpkin tends to attract business with her hyperactivity and cuteness and Pound, surprisingly, manages basic number figures.
This is an odd family, but somehow, it works. Scoots wouldn’t trade them for anything else. Yes, even Rainbow Dash.
