The herd of brave ponies comes eye to eye with their biggest enemy. The mischievious Storm King decides to steal all of the magic from their home Kingdom of Equestria. In order to save it, the brave heroes have to set out to a journey full of adventures. They will make new friends like seaponies or good pirates and will live through many emotional and funny turn of events to once again prove that friendship is magic.
Too late. :P
You got to have a balance.
Though to be clear, it helps immensely if your more-so leaning to the optimist side more than the pessimism, to at least save people the trouble of responding to a neverending thread, but hey… =P
No, that would be bizarre Tirek. Nega-Tirek is just his decolored/nastier version. Or at least that’s how I’ve seen it used in that past.
If my time on the internet has ever taught me one thing is that for every single piece of media, there will always be someone out there who will shit on it. Just listening to all the pessimism and siding with it is not good for you.
I’m not saying that all pessimism is bad, sometimes it can save us from some dreadful mistakes. I’m not trying to say “You guys will hate on anything! The MLP movie will be the best movie in the world!”, but at least wait until the freakin’ trailers come out along with more information as apposed to going along with a Polish summary.

But pessimism can also make someone so sour it end up ruining everything for them, they can never see how anything can be good so it never can be good.
So they doesn’t end up pleasantly surprised, they end up proven compactly wrong they get upset over and and still call it bad, only for BS reason.
People need to be critical, not pessimistic.

Sometimes I feel pessimism can go a little too far in the other direction. Like, never expecting ANYTHING good just seems like a very miserable lifestyle to me, y’know?
Pessimism’s good; softens the blow of disappointment, and if you turn out to be wrong you’re pleasantly surprised.
I never thought she’d be important; she’s probably like Gazelle from Zootopia, just there for some music and a closing number.
If the info about the movie starting with a party of some sort is true, she’s probably the entertainment for it, the party gets cut off due to the attack, and the movie ends with the party taking place again with her closing the movie out with a song.
its possible Storm king is stealing magic in a different way or for a fundamentally different purpose, such as to weaken ponies, use it for a spell component, or a number of other things. (Maybe even trying to get rid of the ponies so windigos can return)
@thps48
I’d actually like pinkie with stretchy rubber powers.
@Officer Hot-Pants
If you reversed tirek, wouldn’t Nega-tirek therefore be Good? :p
All I am hoping for is for the movie to not flat out suck. If I get the same enjoyment from it as I would typically get from a season premiere/finale two parter, that’s fine by me.
I mean Twilight’s Kingdom is my favorite season finale, so I think I’m set. :D
More like most of the ones defending it are the rational ones and they are defending it from the one that are blandly pessimistic.
A lot more people are saying how we really can;t tell yet, it might be good or bad, but we can’t tell with what little we have.
Or it’s the ones already calling it bad based solely on the little we have.

But really; the hopes are not high. There’s a line between realistic expectations and blind optimism, and most people defending what’s been revealed are firmly on the blind optimist side. I know people like to hold onto their bastions of optimism and feel-good attitudes(particularly when the fandom’s been clawing at each other’s throats since the end of season 3), but there comes a point when you must face reality. This just… doesn’t sound good. Or even decent.
At least those that love drama, like myself, will be able to garner enjoyment through that.
Shut up! B-baka!

It’s also apparently from the film’s Polish distributor, Monolith Films. So it is in fact legit.
Oh hey so the source was posted six months ago…

I highly doubt that also this was posted 6 months ago

Makes sense.
That’s not Google Translate’s fault. I take full responsibility for using this word in this translation. It’s basically the first related word that came up to my mind that wasn’t plain like “evil”.
Mischief is only harmful in the sense that any harm caused is likely unintentional, or at least not done out of malice. Sinister, on the other hand, is unmistakably intentionally harmful.
Magic seems like something that can easily be stolen in this franchise.
UNLESS IT’S FRIENDSHIP!!!
I’m going to speculate and say that Songbird Serenade (Sia’s character) may not even involved in the plot at all. The Mane Six could visit her concert, the Storm King steals their magic via MacGuffin, the Mane Six go on a journey to restart the magic and the movie ends with them celebrating at her concert.
Yeah, and yet it’s not said in this short desrciption. Who’s to say they’re not hiding any more sub-plots?
