Too long for a New Mexico-class like USS Idaho, but it’s definitely visually based on the Montana-class like the unbuilt USS Ohio.
Artist says it’s not intended to be historically accurate to anything, though.

Nah…Just poked a joke on naval gunfire support issues..There’s a party that believed that the Navy should kept the use of big guns and other side want to these great ship to be retired and being replaced by missile..
Actually this isn’t the Iowa Class battleship. This is actually the Montana Class battleship. It was just a concept design that was pushed aside in favor of the production of more aircraft carriers with America’s entrance into the War in the pacific.
Had it been made it would’ve been the first American warship unable to fit inside the Panama Canal locks.
