Just came across this pic again. I really like that we’re also seeing some range in the body types instead of unform “sexy-lady-body” in different colors and with a different head and tail put on. There could be more, of course, but at least there’s some.
 
My new headcannon is that there would be a pretty clear difference in body types among the tribes. Pegasi would tend toward small and lithe, because they need to fly. Earthponies would tend to be stockier. Unicorns… not sure. Perhaps tall and elven. Of course, this would only be general observations with plenty of room for variation.

Sure with a bikini you’re not leaving much to the imagination, but I think that’s why people wear one pieces. A mystery makes everything 5 times more sexy. :)

There’s a certain level of innocence where you’re self conscious in a bikini, and then there’s the level of innocence where you don’t know you should be self conscious. I could see a world where that fits Fluttershy. Rarity probably told her it was the best suit for her.
 
AJ probably got her suit from Rarity, but was too busy to look at it until they got to the changing tents. “What the Hay? This doesn’t seem very practical…”
 
PP probably took some convincing to not just go naked, because FUN!
 
RD just wanted something plain and revealing to she could show off here awesome physique.
 
Rarity’s suit is the 7th iteration before she thought she’d designed something suitably elegant.
 
Twilight’s is just the suit she’s always had. RR insisted on altering the cut so it’s at least current. Her hands are back there because she just became aware that her gluteal sulci are showing.

PonyPon already answered for me, but yeah, for the entire show, Twilight has been an ingénue. She’s probably always been perfectly comfortable in a one piece and wouldn’t feel like that needs to change.

Fluttershy, instead of covering your cleavage with your hand … try a one-piece swimsuit instead.
