Because in the past, I’ve always joked that Rarity’s last name is Belle because of Sweetie Belle. Of course, its not true. It only works for the others like Fluttershy’s last name is Shy or Pinkie Pie’s last name is Pie and so on.

I don’t need any pointless death drama narrative. Pear Butter is beautiful and deserves to be alive. Keep death for the bad guys like Chrysalis and Tirek.

I personally don’t think that ponies use surnames as we do, like each surname is unique in a way.

Mind blowing moment, I still am waiting for the day a Pegasus or Earthpony gets through alicornation so we can safely say that isn’t something exclusive to Unicorns… disregarding the whole Princess Cadence was originally a Pegasus IDW deal thing.

Be that as it may, I personally wish and used to believe that alicornation was a gift from the Elements of Harmony to that one pony that exceeds in bringing balance to the world which would fit Twilight and Cadence perfectly… hells even Tia and Luna, and all seemed to lead to that until Flurry Heart came along…

Except Celestia and Luna are explicitly born, pure blooded, alicorn not ones ascended. This stated by Lauren Faust herself and reinforced by the book The Journal of the Two Sisters written by Amy Keathing Rogers with the help of the show creator. A journal, I might add, which is referenced in the show with Twilight actually quoting from said book.
