Pinkie Apple Pie, Incest

Let’s say on the off chance that Pinkie actually does end up being related to AJ in some form. Would we simply draw a line and say “This side is not incest, and this side is.”

In the extremely unlikely event that it turns out they’re related, I have no idea. Most likely everything pre-reveal would be left alone and everything after would carry the incest tag.
 
That said, a reminder that “incest” does not apply exclusively to relations between blood relatives.

I think they are far more likely to turn out to be possible distant relatives than even just as close as cousins (sisters and such is out of the question), which means that the blood tie is too far removed to count as incest in the first place.

Once again, blood is not a factor in incest. If post episode the two characters start referring/treating eachother as sisters or family in some clear way, shipping them from then onward would be incest.

Can I ask, as it was ambiguous whether she was related or not, is this decision staying?  
Also, calling it incest on the basis of how they treat each other is kinda flimsy, coupled with the fact that from SSCS6K, we know AJ considers all her freinds as family, or something like that.

Nah, even if they were related, it’s too far removed to even matter. And she’s not legal family, which is what the term covers.
 
Would probably only apply if the image directly references they’re they cousins.

4th cousin twice removed by a 5th cousin.  
I don’t know if you can call this related. And even so, marriage or sex with such far relations would be legal anyway in most nation I know. Heck most royal families are marring in more incestuous relationships.
 
So I wouldn’t consider this incest and put a stamp on this ship. Because it isn’t like Applejack and Pinkie Pie are now long lost sisters. Or cousins in first or second degree.

I’m sure that both times, the names were smudged.
