I’d like to throw out an observation. Chrysalis had one of her changelings morph into her likeness in order to distract an enemy. What’s stopping her from repeating this? NOTHING!
 
From this point on, they have no way of knowing for sure if they will encounter the real Chrysalis.

Random observation: Chryssy + her full group of tropes have enough combined magic to break the shield at (presumably) full force in a single shot, as opposed to how they broke through in ACW.

I’m not too sure if they’re going to show Twilight killing Chrysalis gruesomely, but I too wouldn’t be surprised if she holds a major grudge against the bug queen. Indeed perhaps some positive experiences with past villains being reformed, made her believe that anyone could be reformed and so foolishly blinded herself from what was actually going on. Now that Chrysalis crushed those pure believes and all the other things she has done to Twilight before…yeah I could imagine purple bookhorse being incredibly mad.  
(probably also feeling guilt, for ponies suffering from Chrysalis attacks because of Twilight being irresponsible)

I wouldn’t say that because Chrysalis has stabbed Twilight’s back repeatedly. I don’t think that even the princess of friendship is gonna let that fly.

Honestly, I think that Twilight Sparkle is going to destroy Chrysalis in a way that will make Sombra’s death look like A firecracker went off. The two first times with Chrysalis, she didn’t fully understand her power. Now she understands it to such an extent that Celestia gave her wings for others to better understand it. With this power, she will Fraking Vaporize Chrysalis’ @$$ using so much power, Luna will see it from the moon.

I’m sort of hoping of a drastic change of personality on Twilight’s part when it comes to Chrysalis, sort of like how Batman treats the Joker amongst the other Rogue’s Gallery, or how far The Doctor of Dr. Who will go to destroy the Daleks.
 
Anyone else getting that vibe or wishful thinking? I mean, in the show and in the comics, Chrysalis has done these things to Twilight:  
-Impersonated her foalsitter and future sister-in-law, Cadance, to get to Shining Armor.  
-Tricked Shining Armor into over-exerting himself with the shield, unknowingly giving himself to her control.  
-Turned her best friends and family against her.  
-Imprisoned her in the caves underneath Canterlot.  
-Almost tricked Twilight into attacking the real Cadance.  
-Defeated Celestia infront of Twilight’s eyes.  
-Foalnapped the CMC to get to the Mane 6 (namely Twilight to abosrb her power/turn Twilight into her pupil).  
-Temporarily torn the Mane 6’s friendships apart.  
-Blackmailed Twilight by threatening the Mane 6 violence, even going back on her word when Twilight agreed to the demands.  
And now…  
-Took advantage of Twilight’s trusting nature, and escaped.
 
I’d love to see Twilight bear an unshakable grudge against Chrysalis.

I see that they still took the book.

Finally we get an FiM story where Twilight loses.

true but it does ease the “comic/cartoon contradicts cartoon/comic” complaints. some can tolerate the cartoon/comic contradicting a previous episode/issue but not a cross-media one.

The show has many writers as well, or did you forget that? The only difference here is that the comic writers were given “more freedom” to write their comic. The problem here is that they have have higher chance of making the characters ooc, shove cheap cultural references as a joke, or just add in their OC because why the hell not? I suspect that some of the comic writers didn’t even watch the show and they seem to love to cheap shot Starswirl every chance they get for some reason.
