Just want to point out, that you actually _*can_* remove ads on Skype. I found out a couple years ago, and it was sooo nice.


 
You have to go open Internet Explorer (yes, even if you don't use it. Skype uses a connection to the web via IE even when it's not open to gain access to its ad service. Once open, go to internet options, then click the 'Security' tab. Then click 'Restricted Sites', then hit the 'Sites' button. Add the following link to there:
 
https://apps.skype.com
 
After that's done, restart Skype and it should show nothing where there once was ads.
