Oh yeah, I forgot about CotTS. Definitely a weird case, though it's possible someone manually cast a spell on the library to slow its decay - or at least, that's what I'd *prefer* as an explanation than "looks like magic just makes **basic physics** work differently, guh-huh!"
(That's not meant to be a dig at you or anything, I just dislike real-world functionality working differently because of "passive" magic that was never deliberately cast. It feels kind of cheap to me for whatever reason.)
Also, (and this is to everyone), on the note of Fluttershy's cottage, keep in mind that in G5, all magic in Equestria was "turned off" for at least 40 years, likely even longer.
