Smartphone are in that weird middle ground where despite being a technology that are almost 12 years old so it’s familiar in our scenery,it doesnt remind us of our childhood like the target audience. That depend on how it’s executed and if G5 is connected to G4
@Kutkabo
I lost interest in what you said as soon as I saw dated.
Done not just some toy that Only today’s children use
And friendship is magic was not consistent With its technology It had modern stuff aswell
The point is that a great deal of the charm in G4 was because of it’s world. HEAVILY greek inspired, and very much medieval. It had incredible charm, and the most technology we ever saw was some big ass speakers.
It was great escapism. You didn’t have to think about the world today and there was clear effort put in. That, and it wasn’t dated by the topics or technology covered anywhere in the show.
In my opinion, just slapping ponies onto what may as well be the real world in modern times is remarkably lazy, and boring.
If you enjoy it, I’m happy for you, and I wish I could say the same.
Pipp and Zipp are sisters? I didn’t think of that even they do have names that rhyme. And the fifth generation has re-introduced the phones in the MLP Franchise for the first time since Pony Life and Equestria Girls. Technology still remains new for G5.

What I mean is it just feel like people think that smartphones are just a trend From A few years ago will Be gone in a few years
@northern haste
In theory ,it may be a time skip (dont quote me on that,i’m in the dark like anyone else here) and the otherwise rustic setting of G4 still had arcade booth,old timey cinematograph projector and DJ turntable commplete with loudspeakers.Make of that what you will
