The rules of sentient biomasses. You can't end the thing, that regenerates itself from few small particles. Until this "cat" is a fire breathing kind of reality bending stuff. Then, it surely can kill the Thing, but i don't see any reason, why she wouldn't just leave an "emergency pile" somewhere, we can't see.
