Wait I didn't notice it at first but they actually remembered the Hondo Flanks and Cookie Crumble actually existed in the end. I don't think they had been even seen in the background of the show since like season 5 or something.

Edit: Turns out it was actually season 6 they were last seen before this. Also, I'm headcanoning that Lyra was visiting someone in Canterlot (likely Moon Dancer) while this all went down.
