One of the things that sets Bronies apart is that we had independent evolution from other fandom. Other fandoms don’t like it because we’re similar enough to them (thanks to convergent evolution) yet are distinct enough that they can neither recruit from us nor can they immediately get started on horses using the mores they learned elsewhere.
 
The “are bronies really just furries in denial?” question is a dead horse at this point.
 
Something I learned was that traditional Fandoms™ are really quite interchangeable. The mostly-female members may be major fangirls of a specific franchise, but they Fandom™ itself cares not for any individual franchise and sees them as interchangable gathering & recruitement points. They also have a shared vocabulary which is distinct from bronies: think calling erotic fiction “lemons” everywhere instead of calling pony fic “clop” and then having a different pun for each franchise.

I doubt. Hasbro probably was blown off their feet by the profit they made from us. They’re not going to revert, even if it’s just for money’s sake  
Besides, in the Decade of Pony the original goal with FiM was to entertain both the kids and the parents who saw G1. Now they can add us to that target audience.

Yeah, I definitely plan to watch G5 at least through the first season, unless it’s so horrific that I can’t stomach it at a certain point. (But let’s hope it doesn’t come to that)

I don’t understand people who say they’ll just jump ship after the series ends. At least give G5 a chance, especially since rumors are that G5 will be more adventure-focused and Y7.

Me as well, well not really. I might be on my mid or late 20s when G5 starts.
 
I was 13 when G4 started and my niece was almost a month old, now I am 22 and my niece is 9 when the show ended.

Mid 20s. I’ll finally be a textbook brony.

I’ll be in my early 30’s in G5.
