Unfortunately, because Bronies forgot how the first season of G4 actually was, there just wasn’t enough support. I think we don’t even have the equivalent show time as the first two come to think of it. Added up G5 total, about 11 hours so far. First season alone of G4 is around 9.5 hours. So, 19 hours from the first two. (And yes, I believe that there isn’t a single episode of the first season that outranks anything G5 on mym)
I feel the same way about G4…and G1. :)
This is an image about the end of the series and eventually the subject of the movie came up (as it often does when discussing the end of G4). Someone complained that Lionsgate refused to release the 3D version of the movie (3D as in 3D glasses not CGI) and this lead to a conversation of 3D in movies.
@GenericArchangel
I see.
It won’t be deleted- at least not by me. Go ahead and post the link, or edit it into a previous post.
How can i give link to a thread in this post without my comment getting deleted?
That’s because of a good director’s (Travis Knight) involvement on Bumblebee. Same goes for John Krasinski on A Quiet Place.
Most of the Bay-produced and Platinum Dunes produced films got bad to mediocre directors from Jonathan Liebesman and Marcus Nispel to Dave Green and James DeMonaco.
I remember someone making the claim that he still deserves the blame because he was the boss’s boss.(it can go the other way as well Tim Burton was also an executive producer little involvement with the nightmare before Christmas)
I also don’t recall anyone getting upset over Bay being bumblebee’s producer
Yeah, Nintendo makes really dumb decisions. Like why haven’t the Satellaview games been rereleased? Or 64DD games like Mario Artist or the F-Zero X Expansion Kit for that matter? Not even in Japan?
Edited
It’s not about the 3D, even though I did made it all about it just because of how IMDb claimed about the MLP film.
If that’s the case, how can MLP survive as a film franchise financially the same way it did as a television series? The MLP film has no sequels now that Hasbro cancelled one, and people want MLP (as a movie, which the 2021 movie is now a reboot disguised as a “standalone” movie) to have a hard reboot with no charm that is as good as FiM. And worst of all, no Tara Strong.
It is not as well known as Marvel and the Simpsons and SpongeBob.
Edited
I understand that, but 3D won’t fix that. Most professional film critics aren’t bronies, so they don’t understand the series, the characters, and such.
Even the G.I. Joe movie is rather confusing even if you know the mythos & different canons the franchise has had. (At least they made Destro Scottish like he originally was.)

I doubt that, as there’s no proof of Nintendo doing that, and remaking old obscure games from a failed console is probably not a huge priority for them. In fact, the Wario Land series has been kinda dormant sense “Wario Land Shake-it” (for Wii/WiiU) kinda failed in sales… (Luckily, the Virtual Console sales of the Gameboy WL games has been good, so maybe they’ll revive the series.)
Admittedly, I wouldn’t mind a rerelease of Wario Land VB though.

While I loved the 3D on the 3DS, I think the technology for it just hasn’t been perfected for the effect yet. Same goes for theatrical 3D.
Edited
I know that people consider wearing 3D glasses to be lame (I definitely don’t) but I wish the 3DS had used 3D glasses since the effect is often broken, even with the improvements for New 3DS.
But all 3D technology, and virtual reality as well, tells people to take a break (as well as that warning that those under 7 shouldn’t use it). So that part doesn’t mean anything.
Edited
I really hope what I heard about it being no glasses 3d is not true. that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen even 3DS games told players to take a break every now and then
I just want Hasbro to not be booed by film critics who don’t understand source material fidelity, is that so hard?
I wonder if it’s possible they really were working on a remake of Virtual Wario Land for the 3DS but cancelled it. Or it may also surface on the Switch (even though it unfortunately won’t have the 3D then).
I heard Cameron that he wants to release it in glasses free 3D theatres.
I dunno if that would work.
My point still still stands as there are still many 2D movies that do well.
And how do you know most of the viewers whom watched those movies watched those movies in 3D? Everyone I’ve known only watched the 2D versions, even those whom saw Endgame.
3D is not what made those movies successful, (and some get kinda dizzy trying to watch those) and even then some are divided on the new Lion King, or prefer the original one.
I remember years ago, Hasbro speculated that G4 MLP was only going to last for the rest of the decade, it was never planned originally to go this long, or last past this decade, so 9 seasons is still impressive.
Also, I hate to say it, but there are very few “critically redeeming sequels” out there… (In fact, sequels are oftentimes rarely considered improvements.) So making one for MLP wouldn’t matter.
The TMNT “Out of the Shadows” sequel (despite it’s flaws) was a much better movie then the previous TMNT movie, but it actually did worse then the previous one, because it couldn’t escape the stigma/disapointment the previous movie had, or because people didn’t like the designs, (even though they’re slightly improved) and because Michael Bay was a producer. (But barely involved in it, so that was very unjustified.)

Doesn’t sound true, as the Gameboy Color version of “Link’s Awakening” was already available on 3DS via Eshop.
Edited
Hopefully that new 3D technology for the sequel to Avatar revitalizes the industry.
