The moral of this episode is: _*Just because one of your friends starts hanging out with someone else doesn't mean that they don't want to be friends with you anymore._* This only focus on friendship not romance, Gabby isn't written as some kind of love interest, she written as Spike's new friend and we probably won't see her again after this episode anyway. Same thing can be said about Spike and Rarity's friendship.
