Okay so like I said the creature in question is a magical equine-insect,. so iIts horns could be either antennas, or just straight up horns, or perhaps even both because once again we're dealing with a fictional magical fantasy creature.

I've never seen the horns on a changeling treated as antenna or referenced as such. Therefore, I do not think that is what they are. They do not move, they behave like horns, and for Chrysalis, she uses hers like a unicorn's horn. It is only then safe to assume that the horns on a mature changeling are, well, ...horns. This means that this particular part of their body design is inspired more by their equine side than their insect side, as I've never seen them referenced as some kind of feeler or detection object. That takes us back to my original point....

I feel like Thorax's horns are big and bulky as an obvious reference to deer or some other equine-like animal like that. Maybe a moose, idk. My point is I feel like this particular design is implying Thorax is a mature male of his species, so I feel like if Twilight had a race swap, she wouldn't have those or at least not in that shape, unless she also got a gender swap. I feel like instead she should have the single-horn design more similar to the other mature changeling we've seen - Chrysalis.

thOkat's not....science though. That's a fictional species with magical properties, it's not sci-fi. If you want to go for the more realistic route, an insect/equine hybrid is litkerally impossible. If you want to go for the show's magical cartoon logic - which is what I'm getting at here - there's very few rules. Or at the very least the only rules we need to abide by are arbitrary ones set by the show's reality - as opposed to our own. The creature in question is a bug-insect, so its horns could be either antennas, or just straight up horns, or perhaps even both because once again we're dealing with a fictional magical fantasy creature.
