In all seriousness, who WOULD be a good a companion for her? [/bq]

While in the past I imagined a scarred veteran like Tempest herself, I'm starting to like the idea of a fanboy civilian who initially makes a fool of himself trying to impress Tempest, then starts showing more depth and maturity during moments of vulnerability and kindness. Once they start to bond, Tempest begins helping him build himself up through training and exercise while dealing with occasional lapses into silly mode, culminating in a climax where he helps save the day through a mixture of goofball antics and legitimite badflankery.

In other words, an awkward, adorkable stallion who starts as comedy relief with a crush and transforms into a genuine action hero with Tempest's help. That way it doesn't appear like she only cares about him once he becomes a built-up action hero, rather once they manage to overcome the initial barrier of awkwardness and annoyance, Tempest actually contributes to her new beau becoming handsomely buff and successful (if still a lovable goofball at heart). The reward is as much hers as it is his.
