Truly Jolee Bindo was the hero that the Star Wars universe needed. It's not a matter of "can they" but rather "can they safely indulge". Simple psychology (to say nothing of the SW universe's history) pretty well demonstrates that they're going to have those feelings one way or another. As it turns out, emotionally crippling people from early childhood leaves them unable to properly handle their emotions. Go figure.
