Don't expect too much of that sort of thing from them. It is said the Mane Six travel across Equestria to get help against the Storm King, so, he is superior to them and they can't defeat him themselves, at least not alone.
 
Reminding yourselves on that before you see the movie will spare you a lot of disappointment and spare the movie from getting two bnegadtive reviews it doesn't deserve.
