Dragons in MLP tend to be... diverse in forms and shape. Some have horns, some don't have wings, some have more than four legs, etc. You probably think of Basil/Reginald/migration crowd, which is just recolors of each other for saving budget in early seasons. Dragons in thprevious episodec looks like young adults to me, while teenage dragons from s02 have more scrawny look.
