Before Hasbro change their name to "My Little Pony", they actually call "My Pretty Pony" (more girlish if you ask me) and they make the toy pretty large, here the comparison "My Pretty Pony." and "My Little Pony Generation 1."

So "My Little Pony" for me is just a naming for the toy that alot smaller than the original "My Prettey Pony."
