Well, as an anime fan and decidedly not a conservative, I’d have say no. As for someone that doesn’t like anime, I have no idea what their perceptions are. And I’m assuming this is from a Western perspective since in Japan it’s not really indicative of one’s political leanings.
 
… Though the likes of Bismarck, Prinz Eugen, and Graf Zeppelin are/have been/will now be problematic at best.

Either way I meant that not being part of the “in” group was especially bad in yesteryear America, and Irish historically wasn’t part of that specific set of people.

Well I am just asking because people get triggered over anime censorship and Crunchyroll’s cartoon that I shouldn’t mention and were called SJW propaganda. Also the Vic Mignogna drama that anime fans are trying to ruin not only Funimation but also Sean Schemmel, Jamie Marchi and Monica Rial just to save his career.
 
Also I see most conservatives as anti-SJWs. Mostly alt-right.

As to the Vic situation, yes, I’m aware that some of his fans have been trashing other voice actors. The censorship issue, on the other hand, is usually a universal issue despite the politics if we’re talking about in general. I’m unsure about specific cases. As for labeling this series or that series as “SJW propaganda” is problematic and would indicate either a conservative or alt-right fan more often than not.

I think OEL (Original English Language) manga is less of a contentious… thing than arguing about what and what does not constitute an anime.
 
I’m with Adam, though, that I don’t consider Avatar or RWBY to be anime, as much as I like them and how incredibly behind on RWBY I am.

Yes, there can definitely be influences, just like the origin of anime, but we have to try to draw a line somewhere, as much as we like something. We could say “anime-inspired” like with the original Teen Titans series.

A lot of the creators of anime are Japanese ultranationalists  
And Japanese Nationalists tend not to be just like normal nationalists, slightly racist and all that  
They straight up deny Japanese war crimes and glorify what was effectively the Nazi Germany of the West(Japanese Empire)  
So, it’s natural that many right wing mother fuckers would be attracted to it when many anime are made by people who are at least nostalgic for Japanese Empire  
Although it’s worth noting that left wingers also produce many anime
