I’ve noticed someone saying they can’t get into the show because of how he doesn’t like it making Ochako the love interest and saying it makes her a damsel and doesn’t get the popularity.

I mean, even if Uraraka wasn’t the designated love interest, people will ship them anyway.
 
And I disagree about her being a damsel. She has her own motivations, her own story, and she pursues her own development with little-to-nothing to do with Deku. She is the love interest, but I don’t think she’s there just to be the love interest.
