And yeah, the movie’s canon, unlike, say, Babs Seed…

Did anyone really expect them to ignore the movie?

I for one am excited for fanart of winged spike. And some more smolder.

I’m honestly baffled by this discussion.

Are people actually salty that the movie is canon? I never saw the movie so why does it matter if its canon or not?

I pity the people that want to avoid spoilers but will draw winged Spike in the months leading up to it being spoiled by people saying “Oh, so you saw the leak too?”. Even the “hilarious in hindsight” tags being added to old winged spike pics are kinda hinting at it.

Not salty but dissapointed that the long awaited movie had such a poor execution, so it’s expected to see people not happy to be reminded of it and much less it being shoehorned into the series, which already has it’s own pile of problems and they are adding yet enother one to it.

Spike’s father will appear on episode 24 so prepare yourself for the oncoming tearjerker and feels episode. If they do something similar to that Fresh Prince of Bel Air where Will’s dad showed up, it will be an episode for the ages.

I love how they treat the movie as canon by including the hippogrifs amd mentioning the storm king but at the same time completely ignoring the existence of Tempest Shadow, Capper and the pirates.
 
They also mentioned changing their mind about a direct sequel to the movie a d opting not to continue Tempest’s story.  
So it seems like they want to act like she never existed along with the other movie characters except the hippogrifs.

The leaks also included some documents where they admited the movie didn’t lived up to their own predicted expectations and tried to isolate the causes. (Bad concept executions and not enough time to cram up everything, for example.)

That’s likely gonna be the Spike’s Origin episode. Its mentioned that the dragon might be “questionably” Spike’s father. They’re wrapping everything up.

I would have been happy with Scoots being a late bloomer and finally learning how to fly,  
or being a disabled pony.  
Either way I just wanted the show to make up its mind about Scootaloo!

I’m sorry this is something I do not understand why can’t it be ok that Scootaloo is very likely disabled? Why is this such a huge problem, not just for you mind you but there are a lot of people that completely despise that idea? (spoilering just to be safe because what I’m responding to contains a spoiler)

I think that was fairly obvious. You could have made three movies for the time it spent in development hell.

Hah, I’m finally downloading the pony movie on Google Play, now I’ll finally get to see what the movie fuss is about…  
In my own opinion though, I don’t think the movie needed all the graphical bling and effects, I personally liked the look and feel since season 1.  
Little improvements over time to the quality is nice.  
But I just think the movie was overkill with the effects…

Scoots should never fly, imo. She is great as she is.

That’s a valiant idea, but one of many complains about EQG when it was known it would have a limited theater release was that it still looked like a flash series to get such treatment.
 
I NEVER expected a movie to have the show quality.

Well if she is WILL THEY FUCKING SAY THAT ALREADY?! This show likes to take its sweet ass time answering questions like that, and in some cases they never get to them at all. I’m just frustrated.

You are never going to get all the answers to everything in any show or piece of media in general, even on shows that are highly planned out, that is just how it goes.
 
Honesty IMO its better that way so there is something for the fandom to work with. It’s pretty obvious that they mean to have Scootaloo be disabled and unable to fly I really don’t see why they need to explicitly tell us that’s the case. It would be nice if they did but sometimes subtly is better
