Video Game General 2: Definitive/Remastered Edition

Just randomly ran into Clover in the middle of the wilderness, so maybe what I said about battles being a finite resource might not be so accurate. Still, can’t say that I’m looking forward to combing vast swaths of wilderness if I’m ever itching for a rematch with Blockhead, Bonehead, or Pinhead, or worse yet, then finding me when I’m ill-prepared for a fight.

Taking a break to replay DOOM again. Already managed to get myself killed by accident. I get the feeling I’m gonna be in for a very rough time.

God I suck at this game. And the worst part is is I’m not even playing on the actually hard difficulties.

Nakai the Wanderer no longer sucks as a faction. By dedicating cities to the Old Ones, he gains benefits to his horde. His campaign so far is almost too easy because he’s in Cathay and Chinese peasants versus giant bipedal crocodiles with sledgehammers goes as well as you think it would.

I found another glitch - this one beneficial. If another army is within reinforcement range, even if they’re not allied with you, they will reinforce you in battle. I let the Vampire Coast army wreck itself taking the city I was sieging, then finished them off.

I gave Daniel the Demon another shot today. His new starting area is simultaneously more and less annoying.

Yea, you’re less under siege, but your naturals are all plague happy nurgle cities, and the Varg declare war on your super quick unless you waste a point in the Norsca faction buff.

And there’s a chance that Malus will steal one of your first possibly cities.

I see. If I had to start close to Malus, I would try to take him out as soon as possible.

I thought about playing a chaos faction, but I wanted to check out the changes for Nakai. Maybe Skarbrand or Vilitch next time.

I’m this close to just saying “fuck it on this rune trial and moving on in the game without it. I’m sick of getting instantly killed because I keep blundering into enemy fire like a goddamn idiot because this game requires a level of hyperawareness that I simply don’t have. And it’s not like I’m gonna use the damn thing anyway even if I do get it.

You know what’s really dumb? The stereotype about archers being women due to women being “frail” (it seems to be in eastern MMOs for the most part from what I’ve seen).

I always thought it was the token ‘skill’ ability that still requires some strength.

Splatoon 3 has already hit 3.45 million sales in Japan.

Yeah, FFXIV kinda has that going for it too, what with the guild master and one of the two main NPCs for their quests being female, but then moves away from it once you hit lvl30 and unlock Bard. Then you get an old man sitting in a forest to teach you.

From what I’ve heard, bows require a lot of strength to be effective with. I’m guessing it’s in the same vein as healers being a class only available to girls in some games.

I’ve heard it’s a odd (and kind of sexist) tread in eastern MMOs that female-exclusive classes tend to have them be archers (which were very strong IRL) and healers because “women are fragile and lack physical strength” or some BS.

I saw Mother’s Basement’s review on it in one of his Worst Anime Of videos. According to him, it’s basic in its attempt to be edgy and only got a spot in the video due to people demanding he have it on the list.
