I think this is the same event from last week. The Danish and Swedish navy is holding the ship and are currently working with the Chinese to bring the ship to port for further investigation. They have been sitting at it for 8 days or so now.

What is something you consider an opinion that you have that proves that you are conservative?

And is on topic for this thread? Because while talking about ‘what conservative means’ in this modern world is on topic for this thread, asking someone else to prove that they’re something you already don’t believe they are is kind of nope.

If one attaches a label to themselves, they ought to be able to explain what it means and refusing to do so is rightly met with skepticism.

I don’t call myself anything because there is no label I know that fits me. I lean left, but there are things I disagree with the left on.

J. K. Rowling and other TERFs are publicly accusing Zambian star footballer Barbra Branda - who is a cisgender woman - of being trans, citing a 2022 incident where she was withdrawn from a team after a sports doctor refused to sign off on her sex verification.

“Presumably the BBC decided this was more time efficient than going door to door to spit directly in women’s faces,” Rowling tweeted about a BBC feature on Branda. Others are explicitly calling her a man and referring to her as “he/him.”

There’s a distinct pattern in the gender panic in women’s sports where it’s disproportionately affecting African women.

The reason I ask is that he does not seem to know what a conservative is yet he claims to be one over and over. Being a conservative means having specific ideals, it’s not just something you define yourself as. Now it looks like I have attacked him for anyone reading the thread. 😥

And to answer your second question, yes I think asking someone about their political standpoint in the politics thread is perfectly valid as long as it is not an attack or harassment.

So according to Wikipedia (and you since you’re using it for this), equal rights are politically left. That I have to call BS on. Also, why would it both have Christian values but also against euthanasia, when the former is all about an afterlife and it would be those who think there’s nothing on the other side who see death as the final destination and effectively sending them to the void?

I am not American myself but I know the individual in question is American, therefore I used a very textbook definition of American conservatism as a basis for my question. 🙂
