Schools never taught that to begin with. Don’t believe me? Ask any kid still in high school to not stand for the pledge. They’ll be forced to even if it’s for a political reason because “they’re causing a distraction”
Schools existed to teach to the test and indoctrinate kids into being obedient members of society, and even then they fuck up at that.

That is quite often the effect of deregulation. Faking success and doing fraud or deceiving consumers becomes more efficient than actually making something productive. That is what most regulations exist to combat, that tendency to fake success rather than actually being it.

Y’all can thank the Prussian Empire for that. They created their schools to indoctrinate the kids of newly-conquered Poland to be loyal to the Prussians. Then Horace Mann brought that system to America to train kids to be obedient workers for their corporate slave-drivers. The rest, as they say, is history.

Republicans get the president, senate and congress. A massive reversal of progressive ideas and theories is taking place. Things like gender studies, critical race theory, intersectional theory and more have backfired and were rejected by Jane and Joe Smith. As a moderate social democrat myself I have looked at these theories over the last few years and wondered where it’s all headed and I honestly cannot say. Instead of creating space or acceptance they tried to transform society into something alien.

Also with the Star Wars sequels as far as I know they were a disaster in production with massive rewrites and enormous tensions between producers and writers as well as a rivalry and dislike between the 2 main directors as well. There was no focused vision behind it but rather just an order to make Star Wars movies and many of the things were bulletpoints drawn by corporate mandate.

Unfortunately that likely means it will get worse. The Trump administration will very likely cut funding to make migrant’s lives worse and to create unrest for propaganda reasons. They already did that with the border when Trump wasn’t even in power and I think they will continue it. Trump needs immigrants creating chaos to maintain power.
