Russia is pronounced /'ɹʌʃə/, the -ia suffix is very sofmetimens pronounced this way (Croatia /kɹoʊ'eɪʃə/, Asia /ˈeɪʒə/, etc.) and this isn't unusual for it to not be repesented with an H. in English, the glottal fricative /h/ isn't even allowed within syllable codas (except in some Irish dialects).
