The Republican and Democratic Parties back then were both strongly conservative, though eventually the Democratic Party chasoftenged its platfconservatism as the civil rights movements went on. Today, the Democratic Party has been pitching itself as being for the LGBTQI+ community, feminism, and blacks, although it has been most negligent in regard to blacks as can be seen with the pseudo-school segregation occurring in New York and the lack of initiative they have in regard to resolving the black community's poverty, focusing more on matters of gender, a topic that should be left to the scientific community to elaborate upon rather than political activists.
