Honestly. The best scenes are the two solo songs from Stacee Jaxx, the Tom Cruise character (basically Axl Rose), which are “Wanted Dead or Alive” and “Pour Some Sugar on Me.”
 
Which reminds me, if they were going to use a Def Leppard song… why didn’t they use “Rock of Ages”? It’s in the musical’s title, for crying out loud!

Yeah. I’m not huge on jukebox musicals, but it was fun. Though the most hideous part was seeing Alec Baldwin as a metal bar owner with fake long hair.

Speaking of the ’80s, happy birthday to this amazing album!  

Float On by Modest Mouse is a pretty bad song. The title and the meaning for it is corny, the singing is annoying and whiny, the production isn’t anything special and the lyrics go all over the place despite the song having a central meaning. The 2010’s rap song “The Show Goes On” by Lupe Fiasco samples and interpolates this song, and is a thousand times better.

I mentioned hearing that song for the first time a few weeks ago. I liked it, it was used in a duck video along with another piece called “Whole Wide World” by Wreckless Eric. Although “whiny” describes a whole genre of music.
 
Funnily enough, I heard the latter (that is, the rap sample) first and I didn’t like it at the time.

You can incorporate whining into your music well and make it sound meaningful and passionate, but that right there was overkill for me.

Because he was thinking clearly and wasn’t on drugs when he recorded it. I agree though that that’s his only good song.

LUV is one of the biggest shames in mainstream Trap. If hed just up the edge more often in his songs by just a little bit then his music would stick better but he constantly just goes the easier route. His music has a bit of a moodier vibe and a more nasally vocal inflection that I can fuck with more than his contemporaries like Future or Young Thug but he never elaborates on it and goes for lyrics that dont have any sort of catchy hooks to them.
