Seeing them read the newspaper article about military androids and their total lack of morals made me remember a scene from Subsurface Circular where you talk to a military robot. You can ask them why they bother to give them any kind of morality, and the robot replies with something to the effect of “Because that would turn me into a monster and war into a totally indiscriminate slaughter.”
 
So yeah, David Cage has no idea how humans actually feel about things or how we perceive and adhere to morality. As if that wasn’t obvious.
 
Also Subsurface Circular is a way better game about enslaved robots in a society that doesn’t really care about them that much, despite being far shorter and having a far lower budget. And also a way better game about a robot revolution.

The guy’s have a suspension meter like the cop and Pat’s is higher than the others.

How the hell do stupid MF’ers like Pyrocynical and Fitz and Leafy have 2M+ subs but Best Friends Play can’t escape the 700,000’s? Is it because they’re not playing the latest and trendiest video games and thus don’t have the lure of stupid kids subbing to them to get their numbers up?
 
Like, I always wondered this since the early days. These guys deserve far more subs than they get, and they only get MAYBE 10,000 a month on a good month. I remember just like 4 years ago they were celebrating 500k and everybody was freaking their shit over it. But since then the numbers have been crawling so slowly up. SBFP put out so much more quality content than the rest of that other shit combined, and they work so much harder. It’s fucking unfair.

No clickbait titles/thumbnails. They don’t play the hottest new meme games, and if they do, it’s a one off. No face-cam to act wacky on. No fake, over exaggerated reactions to fucking every little thing. No flashy editing that people think is the epitome of funny, such as zooming the screen in or shaking it during shows of emotion or text popping up on the screen constantly. No animated videos to catch the kid’s attention. Videos are a respectable length and not bite size unsatisfying lengths, when the average idiot isn’t willing to commit more than 10-15 minutes per video even though they’re gonna watch 4 hours of total YouTube that night.
 
Basically, they’re not as popular because they’re good.

And that’s the thing that upset at the start of the game because she’s sees the magazine and she has a yellow flash but we weren’t allowed to see what it was and I know right away it would be super dumb if you are not allowed to know just like Heavy Rain they thought he would never do something like that again but the Leopard never changes its spots.

I commented on this, but holy shit is David Cage’s writing getting transparent. It’s like he opens The Big Book of Tropes and just copypastas them all into his scripts. I knew we wouldn’t be able to get through the whole game without it going full Cage on us. We saw glimmers of it during the Zlatko sequence, but we’re up to our necks in it now.

So played Detroit again (started at the sex club not started all the way from the beginning) to get a different outcome and see if I could find out about rA9 but I didn’t find anything just googled turns out it’s never resolved I’m sure David was thinking “is like real world religion where there are no answers” that or it was something so stupid he’s handlers convinced him to cut it like the psychic link from Heavy Rain.

That’s the thing that gets me about Cage apparently he’s a self described atheist but religion/supernatural shit is always dripping from his works I’m not judging anyone on their beliefs (or lack thereof) and I’m not doubting that someone that is atheist could make work about that kind of stuff but it does seem weird I mean for fuck’s sake crosses were 1-UPs in Indigo Prophecy.

So, the longer I watch these guys and their separate channels, the more I’m starting to realize something: Matt and Woolie like putting in the time to do research and put together slickly produced lore and gaming history videos. Pat… doesn’t. Like, the most effort Pat puts into his channel is cutting his livestreams into parts, slapping a title card on them, and putting them up. Now, that isn’t to say that Pat doesn’t know a lot about the gaming industry – he’s shown that he does – but he sure doesn’t seem to like making much in-depth content for his channel.
